Sedikit penjelasan tentang surat Al-Qashash, surat Al-Qashash merupakan surat Makkiyah atau ayat-ayat yang diturunkan kepada Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam di Mekkah sebelum peristiwa hijrah. Surat Al-Qashash merupakan surat ke-28 dalam Al-Qur'an dan terdiri dari 88 ayat, tepatnya pada Juz 20. Dinamakan Al-Qashash yang dalam bahasa arab mempunyai arti Kisah-Kisah, karena surat ini memuat tentang kisah-kisah para Nabi. Kata qa-sha-sh disebutkan dalam ayat 15 dan semenjak ayat 3 sampai 46 menjelaskan secara panjang tentang kisah kehidupan Nabi Musa Nabi Musa as dan Fir'aun disebutkan pada awal surat dan kisah Qarun diungkap pada akhir surat. Dalam pada itu, kisah ini memberikan ketenangan kepada kaum Muslimin supaya mengetahui bahwa segala kekuatan berada di tangan Tuhan dan akan membantu mereka. Kekuatan Fir'aun dan harta banyak Qarun sama sekali tidak ada nilainya di hadapan Tuhan. Kisah Nabi Musa as dan Nabi Syuaib as serta peristiwa pernikahan Nabi Musa as dengan putri Syuaib, kisah Nabi Harun as saudara dari Nabi Musa as, kementerian, kefasihan dan elokuensinya, berita gembira kepada Nabi Muhammad shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam tentang penaklukan dan kemenangan serta kembalinya para penakluk ke negeri dan tempat kelahirannya masing-masing, ganjaran amalan-amalan kebaikan yang dilipat gandakan, namun hukuman atas perbuatan-perbuatan buruk sebanding dengan perbuatannya, adalah tema-tema yang diangkat dalam surat Al-Qashash dalam surat Al-Qashash ayat 56, Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala memberitahukan, bahwa Nabi Muhammad shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam tidaklah mampu memberikan hidayah taufik untuk mengikuti kepada siapa pun, termasuk orang yang paling Beliau cintai seperti pamannya, yaitu Abu Thalib.
